Medicinal plants are defined as those plants which are used as a useful drugs to prevent humans and animals from any disease or health issues and it can also be used for any therapeutic purposes.
Plants are used for the extraction of pure substances either for medicines or for hemis synthesis.
Spice, food, and many other flammable plants are used medicinally. Fiber is often used for the purpose of surgical dressing.
The main medicinal plants are, Ashwagandha, Sarpagandha, Giloy, Tulasi, Shatavari etc.
- Ornamental
Ornamental plants and garden plants are the same. Both are grown for decorative purposes in landscapes or gardens etc. It is based on the role of ornamental horticulture. For instance, some plant components that give off a fresh aroma can be set in a room to aromatize the room, making them ornamental plants.
In landscape architecture, ornamental plants improve the aesthetic value of the area.
There are 4 types of ornamental plants:-
Ornamental plants flowers: – Floral ornamental plants are famous because flowers are very similar to embellishment. Sunflowers, Orchids, Daisies, Hibiscus flowers, Frangipani flowers, and so on can be used for decoration in the outdoor or balcony garden areas.
Eg: Gerbera, Lilium, Carnation, Calla lily etc.
Ornamental plant leaves: Leafy ornamental plants are plants that have attractiveness in terms of their leaves. This kind of ornamental plant is surely durable and does not readily wither or drop like ornamental flower plants.
Eg: Syngonium, Xanadu, Aglaonema , Spathiphyllum.
Ornamental tree plants: These are specially used outside the room such as in gardens, lawns, etc. Ficus, Caycus, Banyan, Rubber plant, etc
